Pricing
A lot goes into making your dream wedding cake and although it is hard to give specific prices without speaking through the design first it is still useful to have some average prices to go by.
As each cake will be made to your exact specifications things like sugar flowers, wafer paper designs and speciality techniques will push up these averages as they are more labour intensive. Some cake flavours can also incur extra costs.
1 tier - average is £80 and £150
2 tier - average is £320 and £400
3 tier - average is £400 and £500
4 tier - average is £550 and £650
Portion guide
Here is a portion guide to help you in deciding what size cake you will need.
Standard wedding cake portions are 1" x 2"
My typical tier depths are generous at 5" but often these get changed to create a more dramatic overall effect.
Frequently asked questions
-
Why are wedding cakes so expensive?
I won't compromise on ingredients so only use the best quality to ensure the best tasting cake. Wedding cakes are real labours of love and a lot goes into each creation with some cakes taking over 40 hours to make. Often I'll start on design elements weeks in advance. What you will end up with is a completely unique and bespoke cake with techniques that are not your run of the mill, a cake that really stands out and provides the wow factor.
-
When should I order my wedding cake?
As you can imagine a lot goes into making a wedding cake so the longer notice provided the better.
I make and decorate all of the cakes myself so have limited slots available each week. Once you start organising your wedding it is best to secure your booking straight away.
-
Can you copy a cake that I like?
I welcome photos to show me the overall feel of the cake that you would like but will not copy another design. We will work together to make sure that you get a completely unique cake.
-
I would like to go ahead with the booking - what do I need to do?
To confirm a booking you will need to send a booking fee of £100. No booking is confirmed until a booking fee has been received. This booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable should you cancel your order for any reason.
-
Will you deliver and set up the cake?
Absolutely, wedding cakes can be delicate and need to be handled correctly so while it is possible for you to arrange to pick up your cake yourself I imagine this is the last thing you want to worry about on your big day!
I offer a free delivery service for all cakes over £400 within a radius of 40 miles of my home address. A charge of 45p per mile is applicable after that.
I can liaise directly with your venue and will take a photo of the cake once it has been set up.
-
Do you provide cake stands?
Yes, I have various stands that can be rented out for £10 and a £50 deposit. The stand must be returned in good condition within 3 days of the wedding upon which the deposit will be refunded. There is a late fee of £5 per day.
-
How long will my cake stay fresh?
Your cake will be baked as close to the requested date as possible but I advise that all cakes are consumed within 48 hours.
-
How should I store my cake?
Cakes should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and preferably in a cool spot. Placing the cake in the fridge will cause the fondant to sweat which will ruin the decoration and will also dry out the cake.

Is it best to have sugar flowers or real flowers?
I love making sugar flowers and its great to see the reactions when people hear they aren't real, plus you get a lovely keepsake! Making flowers from scratch also means we can get as close to your colour scheme as possible and also use some artistic license! While real flowers are also possible please note that not all are suitable for cakes. If you choose to use your own flowers I cannot be responsible for any contamination caused to the cake.
